How Junk Removal Is Usually Priced
Compare a few junk removal companies and you'll see several pricing methods. Some make it hard to know the final number until the job is done.
- By volume. Many companies charge by how much of their truck your items fill, often in fractions like a quarter, half or full load, with a minimum charge for small jobs.
- By weight. Others charge a base fee plus a rate per pound or per tonne, sometimes with a minimum weight and different rates depending on how hard the items are to reach.
- By item or by the hour. Some price each item separately, or add labour by the hour on top of a load price.
- Add-on surcharges. It's common to see extra charges listed for stairs, long carries, heavy materials, certain items, or disposal fees billed separately once the load has been weighed at the dump.
How we price: one simple quote
We keep it simple. You send a photo (or tell us what you've got), and we give you one price based on how much there is, how far we drive and how easy the items are to reach. That price includes the loading, the hauling and the dump fees. When we arrive, we confirm the price with you before anything goes in the trailer, so you know the number before the work starts.
What Changes the Price
- How much there is. The biggest factor. A few pieces of furniture costs less than a full garage.
- How far we drive. We're based in South Surrey and cover Surrey, White Rock, Delta and Langley. Tell us your neighbourhood and we'll include the drive in your price.
- How easy the items are to reach. Tell us where things are (driveway, garage, basement, upstairs). We carry items out of basements and up stairs.
- Heavy materials. Concrete, dirt and shingles are priced as heavy loads, typically from $300 per load.
Your price is confirmed before anything is loaded.
What's always included: loading (including basements and stairs), hauling and dump fees. We recycle or compost whatever we can.
Free City Pickup vs. Using Us
Most cities around us offer some kind of free large-item pickup, and for a couple of items it's worth using. Here's how each program compares with calling us, based on each city's own website (checked October 1, 2026):

Use the city program when you've got a few eligible items, they're easy to get to the curb, and you can wait for a pickup date. Call us when it's renovation debris, yard waste, more than your yearly limit, or a basement or garage you'd rather not empty yourself. We also cover areas the city doesn't: White Rock has no curbside large-item pickup at all.
Dump Run Cost: Doing It Yourself vs. Hiring Us
You can always take it to the dump yourself. That means finding a truck or trailer big enough, loading it, tying it down, driving to the recycling and waste centre, waiting in line, paying the disposal fee at the scale and unloading it all again. For a few bags, that might be worth it.
